
Lori Hameister has operated Little Bit of Guidance since 1999. She specializes in youth community education classes and Minnesota Develop-approved training for early childhood professionals. As a Community Education Instructor, she teaches a Child and Baby-sitting Safety Class (CABS) for 4th – 8th graders, Home Alone for 3rd grade and up.
With 20 years of experience operating her own family child care business, Lori enjoys sharing many of her own experiences with other early childhood professionals in hopes that it will help them to enhance their professional careers. She closed the doors of her Little Bit of Country Daycare in August of 2012 to focus her time and energy on training and mentoring.
In addition to doing training and mentoring, Lori has been an active participant (past/present) in the early childhood field in SE Minnesota by serving on several boards:
Lori has received her Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association (MLFCCA) “Family Child Care Credential” and “Mentor Credential”. In 2012-2013, she participated in the Minnesota State University - Mankato Community of Practice (COP) Mentorship Program. She is also a Certified Inclusion Consultant and Certified Project Exceptional Trainer for the Center for Inclusive Childcare. (CICC)
Lori is an approved trainer with the Minnesota Center for Professional Development (MNCPD). She received her A.A.S. degree in Child Development at Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC) in May, 2009 with the help of the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship.
Lori lives in a small community in SE Minnesota, just outside of Rochester. She has been married to Don since 1984 and they have two adult children, Sami Jo and Tyler. They welcomed Sami’s husband, Stephen into their family in 2015 and became Grandparents to Maggie and Theo. They also welcomed Tyler's girlfriend, Olympia to the family in 2021 and Grandson, Wesley in 2022. Lori enjoys gardening, photography, raising butterflies, traveling, being a Grandma and spending time with her family and friends.
